Toronto · Established 2010
What began as a way to fund a dream in aviation became a Toronto grooming institution.
The origin
Dwight Murray began cutting hair at twelve in Trinidad and Tobago. While pursuing pilot training in Canada, barbering became the way he supported his dream.
He founded Miami Fades in Toronto in 2010, bringing together precise grooming, personal care and hospitality.

The Miami Fades standard
From the beginning, Miami Fades treated grooming as an experience: precise service, professional presentation, thoughtful refreshments, restorative rituals and the feeling of being genuinely known.
That standard continues to evolve—beyond the chair and toward a more connected world of grooming, hospitality, wellness and community.
Sixteen years in motion
Miami Fades was registered in Toronto on August 31, created initially to help fund Dwight Murray’s aviation training.
Yorkville introduced a more considered expression of barbering—classic chairs, professional presentation, refreshments and elevated hospitality.
Training expanded through the Toronto Fade Masters Academy, mentorship and partnerships designed to strengthen the next generation of professionals.
The Mobile Fade Master brought the experience to weddings, private events, community initiatives and guests across the city.
During the pandemic, Miami Fades protected its standard through adaptation, care and a renewed commitment to health, safety and trust.
Miami Fades continues serving Canadian guests while preparing its next chapter in Knoxville, Tennessee.
“We didn’t build Miami Fades to be popular. We built it to be respected.”

The next chapter
From Toronto to our upcoming Knoxville expansion, the focus remains the same: great barbering, thoughtful care and a welcome for every guest.
